1st stage - Deadlifting the weight
To get the weight off the floor requires you to perform a deadlift, which is simply a safe and efficient way to lift a heavy load off of the ground.
1. To perform a deadlift, place your feet shoulder width apart and grasp the jerry cans/dumbbells/kettlebells with both hands.
2. From here bend your knees and hips and squat down. You should feel tension on the muscles of the legs and hips, and your back should be straight.
3. From this position, push down on the ground hard with your legs, and shove your hips up and forward. Once you get to a fully upright position you are ready to start walking.
